PROFICIENCY LEVEL THREE +
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS AND ELIGIBILITY
- Cadets can only take one course at a time. You cannot take a 4 week course at the same time as a 2 week course.
- Cadets may apply for multiple courses. However, there are limited billets, so list your top 3 choices on the application.
- Selections may occur up to 1 week prior to the course start date.
- All cadets selected or on standby will receive a Cadet 365 account. It is important that the Administration Officer has your correct individual email address and contact information (cannot be shared). You must have a phone number for authentication purposes.
- Age is based on course start date.
- Level completed is the training level you are in now (and will complete before end of year)
- Older cadets or higher level cadets are not precluded from taking junior courses.
- If you select a course for which you are not eligible (For example: a level 1 cadet asking for Advanced Aviation), the summer training officer may substitute for a more appropriate course (For example: Basic Aviation).
- There is some flexibility with age and level for older cadets who are applying to junior courses. (For example: a 17 year old cadet is permitted to apply for Airport Operations).
CADET TRAINING CENTRE COURSES – IN PERSON
Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor (ARMI) Course
The Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor Course provides cadets an opportunity to further personal marksmanship knowledge and skills, and develop as a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge to perform the duties of an Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor. Activities include marksmanship techniques, instructional techniques, and coaching. Cadets attending this course will also have an opportunity to progress in their marksmanship level qualification.
Length: 4 Weeks
Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Three training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue marksmanship training.

Drill and Ceremonial Instructor Course (DCI) Course
The Drill and Ceremonial Instructor Course provides cadets an opportunity to develop as a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge to perform the duties of a Drill and Ceremonial Instructor. Activities include advanced drill, instructional techniques and leadership in the conducting of parades and ceremonies.
Length: 4 Weeks
Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Three training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue drill training.

Fitness and Sports Instructor Course (FSI) Course
The Fitness and Sports Instructor Course provides cadets an opportunity to further personal fitness and healthy living knowledge and skills, and develop as a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge to perform the duties of a Fitness and Sports Instructor. Activities include personal fitness, healthy living, conducting the Cadet Fitness Assessment, and leading physical activities.
Length: 4 Weeks
Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Three training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue fitness training.

Advanced Aviation (AA) Course
The Advanced Aviation Course provides cadets an opportunity to develop as a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge required to be an instructor and team leader for aviation activities. Activities include instructional techniques, aviation communication, and meteorology.
Length: 4 Weeks
Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Three training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue aviation training.

Survival Instructor (SI) Course
Survival Instructor Course provides cadets an opportunity to develop as a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge required to perform the duties of a Survival Instructor and team leader for aircrew survival activities. Activities include aircrew survival skills, team and solo survival exercises, aircrew survival exercise operations, instructional technique, and navigation by map and compass.

Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Three training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue survival training.

Military Band Musician (MB) Course
The Military Band Musician Course provides cadets an opportunity to develop music skills to support participation in and / or leading corps/squadron military bands. Activities include music training and band activities such as music theory, music technique, band drill, leadership and performing ensemble music. Cadets attending this course will also have the opportunity to progress in their music proficiency level qualifications.
Length: 4 Weeks
Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Three training by 30 Jun, and Music Proficiency Level: Musician Level II.

Pipe Band Musician (PB) Course
The Pipe Band Musician Course provides cadets an opportunity to develop music skills to support participation in and / or leading corps/squadron pipe bands. Activities include music training and band activities such as music theory, music technique, band drill, leadership and performing pipe band music. Cadets attending this course will also have the opportunity to progress in their music proficiency level qualifications.

Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Three training by 30 Jun, and Music Proficiency Level: Pipes and Drums Level II
